Do you ever read a book and then watch a movie or television adaptation of it and think that’s not how I pictured it?
It happens to me all the time. But sometimes, I’m pleasantly surprised by what is portrayed on the screen. That’s the case for me with Outlander.
In case you missed it, Outlander is exclusively brought to viewers by Time Warner Cable on the Starz channel and tells the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse who is swept back in time from 1945 to 1743, where she immediately finds herself in danger.
Seeing the story come to life on screen is trumping my imagination. Because as much as I adore history, I have zero clue what the world looked like in 1743.
Plus, Jamie *swoon* is so much more handsome on the show than I had pictured in my head. Though *cringe* I hadn’t expected the scars on his back to be as bad as they are. Maybe that’s why I immediately hated Randall on sight. How could he do such terrible things to Jamie?
After just two weeks, I’m completely hooked on Outlander. I know that on Saturday nights at 9 PM, I’ll be curled up on my couch, with a glass of wine(not anything like Rhenish, because there’s no way I could keep up with Collum), and watching the romance and adventure unfold between Jamie and Claire.
If you haven’t watched Outlander yet, or even if you have and you want more, be sure to check out the exclusive Outlander short film, a sneak preview on your computer, phone, and tablet.
