Happy Halloween!

Costume choices this year were very much influenced by our trip to Universal Studios, as all three of my boys picked characters they saw at the park this summer. Even the child who sat there debating which costume to pick was still choosing between two Universal characters(I might be a little bummed that he put the Minion costume back- I always wanted my own Minion).

My two youngest were very concerned about how they were going to be able to use the restroom with their costumes. I picked them up at different times yesterday, due to afterschool activities and the first thing out of both of their mouths was a concern about how they were going to pee. I’m thinking their teachers talked to them about making sure that if they wore their costumes, they were able to use the restroom on their own.

We went through costumes from previous years and they ended up going to school like this(the youngest wants everyone to know that he is NOT Harry Potter, but he’s another Gryffindor wizard):

What are your kids dressing up as this year? Or what was your favorite costume of theirs(or yours)?

I’m the very-proud father of Princess Aurora & Dr. Peter Venkman, this year.

We, however, did our trick-or-treating last night . . . the excitement may have lead a certain Briar Rose to, unexpectedly, want to head back home . . . it wasn’t until a little later that the “ensure you know how to pee while wearing your costume” didn’t translate to “don’t pee in your costume”.

This very-proud father, however, dressed as Slimer to accompany his children (which went a whole lot better with the Ghostbuster than the princess)

I had to go looking for the Slimer pic. Pure awesomeness!

My ghostbuster has that pack, too, but couldn’t wear it to school- which is understandable, but it’s what makes the costume. Well, for those of us who aren’t walking around with Slimer!

This reminded me of an incident a few years ago where my niece desperately needed to go while out in Georgetown DC, my mom and i held her near a bush where she promptly managed to pee on my hand. She then proceeded to tell everyone we met after that – i peed on Aunty nicole’s hand πŸ˜‰

We have Captain American too, as well as Spiderman and Elsa OR Anna from Frozen. She cannot seem to decide so it will be a last minute thing… Your guys look great. Happy Halloween!

I love the costumes . Jack is Buzz Lightyear this year. He already told me that next year he wants to be Bumblebee. Happy Halloween my friend !

Now if you could just hold him to that, you could get next year’s costume at a discount tomorrow. πŸ˜‰

I think it is great that they get to dress up at school. Not here. No way. Political crap. They all looked great. Of course he was not Harry, no glasses and no scar. He could be very specific as my daughter’s friend was…he was Hogwarts student number six. haha.

It has depended on the year here. We had one year where they had to be storybook characters, another year when they had to dress as what they wanted to be when they grew up. Recently, it’s been they can wear their costumes(no masks and no blood/gore) but pay $1 that goes to a designated charity.
