Note: at this time, guest posts are by invitation only. No unsolicited submissions will be accepted. If you are a regular commenter on Things I Can’t Say, you are most likely on my list to ask. Please have patience as it takes a while to get through a list when I only have one guest post a week.
Thank you for guest posting for “Things They Can’t Say.”
Please do not feel any pressure to come up with a topic that you wouldn’t actually blog about. “Things They Can’t Say” is more a play on words: the posts written by me are Things *I* Can’t Say, those by guest posters are Things *They* Can’t Say. The main goal of these posts is to be open and honest with my readers.
Post requirements
The topic of your post is up to you. You were asked to guest post based off your usual posting on your own blog, so stay true to that voice, please! You can check out the previous guest posts to see what topics have been more successful than others.
Posts are due two weeks before your scheduled day. Please let me know if there’s a problem and you need to reschedule as early as you can.
Your post should be about 300-600 words. (on the submission form, it will tell you 200-500 words but you can go over)
Please only include pictures that are either your personal photos or ones from sites that allow sharing(no images found solely from a google or pinterest search please- they do not own those images!). A site with great free photos is http://www.sxc.hu/ if you’d prefer not to use a personal photo.
Submitting your post
You should have been sent a link to submit your post along with the initial request for you to guest post. Please complete this form at least three days before your scheduled day(you can submit it earlier if you’d like- and I’d love you for it). The handy-dandy submission form will format the post automatically, but if you have anything fancy you’d like to include or multiple photos, you can copy and paste the post in html form.
On your blog
You should have been sent the button code for being featured with the initial request for you to guest post- please let me know if you did not. If you’d like, you can display this in a post or anywhere else on your blog.
You are welcome to write a post sending your readers over to visit your post.
I will facebook and tweet your guest post throughout the day and you are encouraged to do the same.
On your guest post
You are welcome to respond to comments on the post: they will be automatically emailed to each commenter.
