Easy Dinners: #HelloFresh

I really hate meal planning and grocery shopping. I do it, obviously, because my family has to eat. But I tend to fall back on the same recipes over and over, even though I love to try new dishes. But somehow, that variety often gets overrided by convenience.

So I was super excited when this HelloFresh box landed on my doorstep two weeks ago. It was packed with three detailed recipe cards and all the fresh ingredients needed to make each meal.
hellofresh reviewThe ingredients come clearly labeled and with the quantity you need to make your meals. The only ingredients you might need from your own kitchen are salt, pepper, olive oil, butter or sugar.

hello freshThe first meal I made from my HelloFresh box was Salmon Fillets with Cashew Crust. This was our favorite of the box(though honestly, all of the meals were so delicious). With both salmon and cashews linked to heart health, this meal had only 598 calories per serving. Hubs has already asked for me to make this meal again- and because of the recipe cards, I can.

hello freshThe second HelloFresh meal I made was Beef and Broccoli Rabe Tostada with Arugula. Having all the ingredients right there and in the amounts needed helped make meal prep so quick and easy. My four year old wanted to eat my entire portion of this meal. The meals we were sent were enough for two adults, but we made each one enough for two adults and one child.

hello freshThe last HelloFresh meal I made was Turkey Polpette with Basil Tomato Sauce.  The recipe card offered helpful tips, like to roll the meat into balls gently because if you squeeze them too tightly, they are likely to get dry with cooking.

I was so bummed when we finished the last HelloFresh meal because that meant going back to me planning and shopping for our meals. Hubs was so impressed with the service that he was texting people about it, telling them they need to check out the HelloFresh site.

That looks amazing. I’m going to check them out. I can see it being really useful right after the baby is born and I don’t have time or energy to drag two kids to the grocery store AND cook!

Go like you are going to order and a window will pop up for you to enter your zip code in and that will tell you.

I LOVE this idea! I am addicted to Entree Kitchen in my area that has premade meals that you can grab and go. I am going to see if they deliver in my area. This would be so nice with our busy schedule and we are getting tired of the same stuff over and over again.

I am in love with HelloFresh.  I can’t afford to do it every week, BUT it’s great for adding variety and teaching me how to incorporate new recipes into the rotation.  It also taught me that garlic is a man/woman’s best friend!!
