Easy Brownie Recipe

Desserts are one of my favorite things to make. Probably because I have a huge sweet tooth.

Now that it’s summer, easy recipes are just the thing. Especially for all the picnics and cookouts that happen this time of year. My usual go to is my white chocolate brownies recipe, but I was all out of white chocolate chips last week when one of my boys was asking if he could bake something, so we made these chocolate brownies instead. Very yummy and more on the gooey side of brownies than the cake-like version.

Easy Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (I have better results with semi-sweet in this recipe, even though I usually go for milk chocolate)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  • Heat butter and sugar in a medium pot over low heat until butter is completely melted- stir often.
  • Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted.
  • Let mixture cool to room temperature (or at least for a little while- I rarely have the patience to let it cool all the way- just don’t immediately add eggs and you’ll be fine)
  • Whisk eggs in a small bowl and then add to the chocolate and stir.
  • Stir in flour, vanilla, and baking soda and stir to combine.
  • Pour into a greased 13×9 pan and bake at 350 for 20-24 minutes.
