Most Wanted by Lisa Scottline Review
Sitting in a coffee shop, treats nearby, book in hand: that’s a lovely morning.
A few weeks ago, I captured a pic of one of those moments while I was reading Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline. Though I quickly had to backtrack and explain that I wasn’t trying to make any sort of subtle announcement, I was just reading a book.
The question you think about while reading Most Wanted is: do you believe in nature or nurture? Christine is pregnant and suddenly she has reason to believe that the sperm donor they used is the serial killer who was just arrested. She and her husband have to decide if that’s something that matters. Christine then gets swept up, trying to figure out what really happened with those murders, while trying to work out what this all means for the baby she’s carrying.
Most Wanted kept me reading, wanting to find out what the truth is. Once the final climax came, the story unfolded really quickly and in a way that I didn’t expect. This book comes out today (4/12/2016) and it’s a good read! I did receive an early readers’ edition to facilitate this review, but as always, opinions are my own.
Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know
My boys are currently Star Wars-obsessed. This book is getting passed around between the three of them: Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know. Any Star Wars fan would like this book. Enough info to keep a tween/teen interested, but even my first grader likes flipping through it.
My fifth grader’s Language Arts teacher assigns the students a certain number of books to read each grading period and gives them a choice of projects to complete (so much more fun and interesting than typical book reports). My son chose this book and the assignment to make a commercial for it, which you can see here.
