The rainy, chilly October weather we’ve been having has led my family to have more family movie nights in than fall outings. Though my boys might argue about what movie we should watch, one thing they can agree on is that they want a sweet snack to go along with their movie watching.
Since we’re approaching Halloween, this Monster Mix is the perfect combination of sweet and salty and is easily adjustable to fit their tastes and is ready in just a minute or two.
- 3 cups white cheddar puffs
- 2 cups pretzels (bonus points for the Halloween shaped ones!)
- 2 cups your choice of Count Chocula®, Boo Berry® or Franken Berry® cereals (any combination or just use one. We used 1 cup of Boo Berry and 1 of Franken Berry)
- 1/2 cup candy-coated chocolates (I used the fall colors one, but the Halloween ones would add a little more Halloween spirit)
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve as is or divide up into treat bags. Makes 10 3/4 cup servings.
Building a Monster Castle
Arts and crafts are another good indoor activity for those rainy fall days. When you buy all three collectable cereal boxes of Count Chocula, Boo Berry and Franken Berry at Target, you can put together a Monster Castle.
Cut out the characters and accessories. Cut slits in each and insert the stands and you’re done with your Monster Castle!
