I was sent a pair of jijamas to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
While we do not do the Elf on the Shelf in my house, we do have a Christmas Elf that visits us every year.
Our Christmas tradition started way back when my older brother was 6 and I was 4. We returned home from Christmas Eve service at church to find two packages wrapped beneath our Christmas tree, along with a note from Santa’s Head Elf.
The Head Elf let us know that due to a change in Santa’s flight pattern for the night, we were going to be one of his first Christmas Eve stops. And because Santa wanted to be sure that we were asleep, he sent his elf ahead with magical pajamas that had sleepy dust sprinkled on them to help us go to sleep quickly.
Every year since, we received our special Christmas Eve pajamas. And when I had children, we continued the tradition, though our Elf brings pajamas for the parents, too. In fact, I’ll admit that the thought of not getting my Christmas Eve pajamas makes me a little sad(or okay, terribly cranky). Thankfully, Hubs quickly picked up on this and has made sure that I have pajamas every Christmas, too.

Another tradition: pictures in front of the tree in our Christmas Elf pajamas. Sometimes the pictures don’t exactly go as planned.
Incredibly Soft Women’s Pajamas
While my boys pretty much like pajamas based on what sort of character or sport is printed on them, I’m more picky. I need to be comfortable in what I’m going to sleep in(and let’s be honest: drive to school drop-off in and probably hang out in most of the morning).
I was sent a pair of jijamas a few weeks ago and they are honestly the most comfortable pair of pajamas I’ve ever owned(whoa- big claim- but it’s true!). Jijamas were created by two parents who wanted pajamas for themselves that were as soft as what their babies wore. Their kids said “jijamas” when they couldn’t pronounce “pajamas,” hence, the name.
With simple designs and light colors, jijamas come in a few different styles. I have the Lighthearted in grey. When you first get your jijamas, they might seem slightly roomy, but they thought of everything and designed them to be a bit bigger so that once you wash them, they’ll be a perfect fit, so order true to the size you normally wear.
I’m hoping that our Christmas Elf brings me The Therapist in pink this Christmas Eve (size medium, regular length, in case you are reading this, Elf!).
Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
This is such a fun tradition. I agree that I need soft and comfy pajamas too or I will not sleep well. For Christmas Eve, we bake cookies and leave a few for Santa along with a glass of milk.
That is a cool tradition. We didn’t have an elf on the shelf, but we could always tell when an elf had been by. We put out an elf “trap” in the kitchen when baking (a cookie or piece of candy surrounded by flour). The next morning we would check for footprints across the flour that we’d scattered and for the treat to be tasted or gone.
We do the Christmas Eve pajamas too but we just tell the kids they are from us, I figure that way they won’t be wearing old ratty pajamas for all the pictures 🙂
I love your Christmas tradition! I should do something like that too, since my daughter is a teenager now and opening a present on Christmas Eve isn’t as exciting as it used to be. Our tradition is we all go to my parent’s house for a big dinner on Christmas Eve and exchange gifts with her side of the family. We do Christmas day with EVERYONE so it’s nice to have a smaller gathering on Christmas Eve 🙂
That is such a fun tradition! My boys get PJ’s every year too and they love to wear them year round. It’s slightly unpractical in July, but hey if it makes them happy.
You have just reminded me we need some sleeping clothes around here *puts on list* . We open one gift on Christmas even that’s always been a tradition for us.
This is such a fun tradition! Growing up we were usually allowed to open one present on Christmas eve… although we usually begged for more! 🙂
My sister in law always get new pj’s for everyone for Christmas Eve. I generally do for the boys, but I’ve been leaving out my husband and myself. I say it is time to treat ourselves! Those jammies sound super comfy.
we do jamas for christmas eve too. i secretly wish for matching family pajamas.
I am regular visitor, how are you everybody? This piece of writing posted at this web page iis actually good.
My kids get new pajamas and a new Christmas book every Christmas Eve. I think this year I need to buy a new pair for myself, too 🙂
I love getting Christmas pajamas as well! We have always giventhe kids pajamas, or at least pajama pants and fuzzy socks for Christmas. Jijamas look like they would be so comfy! I may have to leave a hint around my our head elf as well =)
I love pajamas so much. Now I want a pair of these!
The Christmas Eve Pajamas are such a great idea! I wish that my parents had thought of that when we were younger. That being said, I might just start doing it for myself now 😉
First off, what an adorable tradition! We always give our boys Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve but never thought of the magical dust. So cute. Also, I just may have to check out these jijamas. Whoever thought of that was brilliant.
I love this tradition! I always got new PJ’s and a Christmas book on Christmas Eve, but this is such a great Idea!
I really like the Christmas PJ tradition. We don’t really have a Christmas Eve tradition except going to church every year.
I love this idea, especially the part about the sleep dust. I think this is a tradition I may have to start.
I never started that tradition, but my sister does it. I really love the idea, and I heart pajamas. I practically live in them.
That is such a cute tradition! I like new jammies for Christmas morning pictures, but I never thought about creating a little magic with them. Thanks for the idea!
We do the pajamas on Christmas Eve too. Have been ever since the kids were little but we don’t have the head elf stopping by – I may need to incorporate that, at least with the youngest!!! 🙂
Magical pajamas… I like that. I think my kids need some of those, not just for Christmas but for every night, they’ve been going to bed later and later.
