I hadn’t eaten much more than a bag of pretzels on the plane since breakfast and I was HUNGRY.
When we arrived at the banquet, everyone was standing around socializing, waiting for the welcome speech. But food was being brought out and put into the warmers on the sides of the lawn. Food that everyone else was waiting to eat until after the official welcome.
Everyone else except me. Almost seven month pregnant plus hours since I ate = a really cranky and hungry pregnant woman. I didn’t care that no one else was eating or that we were supposed to wait… I loaded up my plate, sat down, and chowed down, while people around me laughed and then told me it was okay since I was eating for two. I swatted away the hands that were trying to pat my baby belly and focused on my food. I might have even growled at people.
I’m scary when I’m hungry. Cranky, with no patience whatsoever. I also lose my focus. Which is why I make sure that I stock up on snacks. Whether it’s at home on my desk while I work or in my bag on the baseball or soccer field. I need to have something to snack on. Trust me, you want me to have a snack!
