At the end of a long day (and aren’t they ALL long days???), I want to relax a little bit.
I always have a stack of books nearby but believe it or not, sometimes I am not in the mood for reading (shocking, but true).
A mindless television show can be a good way to unwind… but the whole mindless part gets to me.
I used to do a lot of jigsaw puzzles, way before my kids were born. But then babies and toddlers made it impossible for me to leave unfinished puzzles lying around on a table. These days, my boys are old enough not to disturb a puzzle (and they’d want to work on it at this point), but I somehow never got back into it.
But as the saying goes: there’s an app for that.
Jigsaw Puzzle is an app that allows me to work on puzzles from wherever I may be, without the mess of the puzzle pieces left lying around (or without missing any pieces).
It’s a great way to unwind at the end of the day. But I can also play it when I’m waiting for one of my boys to get finished with a practice that is running late.
Jigsaw Puzzle offers daily puzzles so there’s always something new to work on. The puzzles are colorful, with themes like mosaics and landscapes. I personally like the auroras because they are pretty and challenging, though there are over 20,000 puzzles to choose from.
You can also choose the number of puzzle pieces you want a puzzle to be broken into: up to 1024 pieces if you’re playing on a tablet and 400 if you’re on a phone. Though you can choose to do a puzzle with fewer pieces, depending on what kind of a challenge you want (or if you’re having one of your kids give Jigsaw Puzzle a try… though truth: my three boys are better at puzzles than I am, so maybe I should set my number of pieces lower than theirs!).
Jigsaw Puzzle really is a great way to unwind. It’s also perfect for keeping your mind sharp, like for my kids who have been out of school for three weeks now due to the hurricane. So if they’re going to use an app, I like this one for them.
