Top Ten: Christmas-style

I could write a funny post this morning about all the things that went wrong on Christmas or the things that got on my nerves… like my oldest pitching a fit over not getting one thing on his massively long Christmas list or bil and his dumb girlfriend/fiance acting like they were 12, or how the Christmas elf forgot to bring me pajamas, or how Hubs put on “Four Christmases” totally forgetting that there was a whole scene in there about Santa not being real.

But, instead, I’m bringing you our top sweet Christmas moments. I was enough of a Grinch last week.

1.  Monkey not setting fire to the church when he was in the Candlelight Service with us on Christmas Eve.

2.  My boys literally jumping up and down with excitement when they saw the presents under the tree from Santa.

3.  Bear saying of his Big Foot toy that I had won from a blog giveaway “This is the best present in the whole world.”

4.  Hot apple cider all day long.

5.  Cub riding his Toy Story quad.  Even him almost taking out our Christmas tree was hilarious if you watched the looked on his face.

6.  A fabulous Christmas meal(I’m allowed to say that, even though I was the cook, right?)

7.  Cuddling up with my boys and Hubs.

8.  A snowstorm in eastern Carolina that kept us in pjs all weekend long.

9.  The funny presents the boys picked out for me and Hubs when they went out shopping with mil.

10.  Finally getting the Christmas spirit when I was able to relax at Christmas Eve church.

Hope that you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Sounds like a wild and crazy time at your house! Glad you finally go there – it took me a long time, too and I don't have any excuses – no kids running around (he's too old altho he acts like on Christmas morning) and most of the dinner was catered this year – but it was just weird until half way thru last week then bang, Merry Christmas to me. YOU, however, overcame a lot to live and tell us your great list!!

Merry Post-Christmas! Our oldest son and wife were with us for Christmas, so it was awesome having all the boys together! Christmas dinner was delicious – and, yes, if you cooked it you can say it! And, of course, it snowed, and we took some almost perfect family pictures – the teen kept sticking his tongue out -Exasperating!

Christmas with boys is like a totally different soup with a different set of spices than it would be with girls, but just as delicious!

    Those were such sweet moments.

    Merry Christmas.

I'm glad you finally got into the Christmas spirit.

Between my son having a death grip on his candle and our cousin trying to grab the flame (he's 18 months), Christmas Eve mass was amusing.

Did you freak out at the scene in Four Christmases?!?! I would have! Oh no!

Sounds like a great Christmas – you'll have to give me all the details about the other stuff though!

My boys presents that they bought me at the school shop were funny – Zach got me a necklace with jingle bells in it and Ben got me a ring (which is actually pretty)

Hee Hee! Love your iCaught Santa photo – Boo Boo asked us several times if we were going to try and get a picture of Santa again this year.

When I woke her up Christmas mornign and told her Daddy caught Santa again she said, "Its not the same picture is it???"

She is tooooo smart. But, it was not.

Easier to focus on the positive then dwell on the negative. Or at least that's what I'm trying to get myself to buy into.

Is it wrong that I am 28 yet I too desperately wanted a Bigfoot? I'm hoping I find some on clearance now that Christmas is over and will buy it under the pretense that I'm saving it for Jellybean!

Is it wrong that I used Bubby's last chance in the nursery for Christmas eve service?? He won't be allowed in their next year.

Oh, mercy, Shell…I know what you mean. There are always *those* moments on Christmas that make you want to smack your head on a wall. But the good moments outweigh them. Usually. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the comment!!

Oh! I love it!! Your list made me laugh, just remembering the funny (almost disastrous) things that happened with us too. You can hit that point during the holidays to either drink, laugh, and/or cry. You chose a great attitude. Well done!

    December 27, 2010 at 4:50 pm

Sounds like y'all had a very nice Christmas. πŸ™‚ Love the pic… I did that last year and put Santa right in front of our tree. It really looked like he was taking presents out of his bag in our living room. The boys flipped when they saw it. I wanted to do it again this year, but I don't remember the name of the website. Can you tell me?
