I am actually done with my Christmas shopping- I’m usually still going strong on Christmas Eve. But the last things I had to pick up today were the stocking stuffers.
In our house, you are allowed to open your stocking as soon as you get up. You don’t have to wait for the rest of the family. So, our stocking stuffers tend to be more practical and/or keep the kids busy until everyone else is up and ready to open presents.
We go pretty basic with our stocking stuffer ideas, but these fill up the stockings and everyone is happy with them and it helps keep me on my Christmas budget.
1. Books or a book-related item.
It’s usually a book one of my kids (or I because you know I love to read) has been wanting. Sometimes it’s a booklight or some really fun bookmarks- I personally adore the magnetic bookmarks, which I found in some cool designs this year. Everyone can read while they wait for present time!
2. Cards or a dice game.
Some small game that can keep them entertained for a little while. Plus, we really like having game nights here, so it’s always nice to add new games to our rotation. LCR is a favorite dice game and I had to pick up The Oregon Trail game for pure nostalgia.
3. Socks
I’m pretty sure that there is some sort of creature around here who eats socks because I have no other explanation for where they go. Sometimes the kids get socks for school, other times for their sports, and I always get cozy, fuzzy socks.
4. Candy & a toothbrush.
I’m counting this as one item because they go hand-in-hand. Can’t have all that sugar without brushing your teeth, too!
5. A personal care item.
For my husband, a scrubby puff. Deodorant for my oldest, bubble bath for the younger two. As for me, I love this sort of thing, and since I help Santa fill the stockings, I get to pick out my own.
This year, I’m getting Organic Doctor products. They offer a wide range of naturally inspired hair and skincare products. Originating from the UK, they are now available locally at CVS stores or online at www.cvs.com.
I’ve been using Organic Doctor Snail Gel this week, which is a moisturizing, soothing, healthy-aging gel. It retails for $29.99. My stocking will have Organic Olive Oil Skin Lotion and Organic Rose Otto Facial Serum in it. You can head to CVS and add these Organic Doctor products to your stocking, too!
What do you put in your stockings?
