I snap away with the camera on my phone. When we’re doing something fun, when there’s a special event or milestone, or even the everyday, I want to have a record of it all. But then, what do I actually do with those photos? Maybe post the best one to Instagram or share a few on Facebook, while the rest sit on my phone. I might scroll through and smile or sometimes hand my phone off to a visiting family member, but that’s about it because doing anything more requires time and effort.
Or at least, without the help of an app, it requires time and effort. I just started using the RealTimes™ App, which automagically creates stories from your photos and videos. It’s free to download and use, available on iTunes and Google Play.

Once you download RealTimes™ and sign in, you’ll see stories have already been created for you. Mine were organized by date, though if you have location detection turned on, stories will also be created based on location. RealTimes™ picks your best smiles, best lighting, saves it to a cloud, and even adds music.
I viewed the one of my boys’ last day of school: it showed their traditional last day of school pics, my youngest’s kindergarten graduation pic, and then the video clip of him walking across the stage to get his diploma. It perfectly captured our day, set to music. That’s one I quickly hit the share button on and sent it to family, though not to social media since the graduation video had lots of other people’s children in the background.
I clicked on one of the days we spent at Disney World and edited the video to have it exclusively show my boys’ Jedi Training.

Once your video starts to play, you’ll see options where you can edit the title, scenes, effects, and audio. By selecting scenes, you can check the photos/videos you want to appear in your story. If you click on the pencil, you can edit the individual photos: enhancing, cropping, adding text, drawing on them, fixing color, focus, redeye, and much more. You can also drag the photos to a different order.

What I like about the RealTimes™ app is how it creates the story for me: in no time, it’s showtime. But also, how easy it is for me to take what they’ve given me to start with and tweak it if I want to. To go from what RealTimes started me with to my edited Jedi Training video took me less than 5 minutes, even though it was my first time trying this app: it’s very self-explanatory and easy to navigate.
RealTimes also provides you an easy way to share your stories in choice of platform, whether you want to post it where everyone can see or share privately with just a few people. Those you share with do not have to have the app in order to view your video.

When you sign up for RealTimes™, you’ll get 7GB of space, free. There are also two premium subscription plans available: a $4.99 per month premium plan provides an additional 25GB of storage, while $9.99 per month gives you an unlimited plan letting you access all music tracks, filters and effects for unlimited story duration and storage use for up to 15 devices.
You can learn more about the RealTimes™ app by visiting them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Or give it a try yourself by downloading RealTimes™.
