Being a “mean mommy” and making my first grader take a bath and get ready for bed last night, he informed me, “You are not a nice mom. You’re a mean mom!”
“Oh, really? I’m sorry to hear you think that.”
“Yeah,” he continued. “I want a new mom. One who is the opposite of you.”
“Where are you going to find a new mom?”
“On care dot com. I’m going to tell them what kind of mom I want. The opposite of my mom.”
Well, gee, thanks for that, kid. And thanks for those commercials, care dot com.
My third grader laughed and informed his brother, “You can’t get a new mom on there. But you can get a babysitter.”
Ever have one of those days?
Btw, if anyone doesn’t believe medication can work wonders for kids with ADHD, all you need to do is come spend a day with my sweet child when he’s on it and then the child who took a med-vacation for a day who hates me and wants to get a new mom just because he has to wash his hair.
