Superhero Summer Stash

Able to wrangle three boys and defeat their arch nemesis, the evil Dr. Boredom… it’s SUPERMOM. Dah-dah-dah-DAAAAH!

Okay, maybe not.

But with the summer comes lots of day trips because we cannot let that evil Dr. Boredom or his cousin Captain StirCrazy win. There’s plenty to be done that doesn’t require much planning or money: heading out to the park, the pool, or the beach(if you happen to live near it, like we do). But you don’t want that mysteriously sneaky villain Timesuck to waste your day. So, you need to have a Superhero Summer Stash, so you can leap to the minivan in a single bound.

More important than your super suit (though maybe not your bathing suit….), every Supermom needs a go bag for a quick exit. Think of these things as your Bat Tools. Where does (s)he get all those wonderful toys? (You know you’re a boy mom when Batman quotes make it into your every day speech).

beach-bag-essentials
1. A fabulous bag to carry all your secret weapons.

2. Wipes to defeat germs.

3. Plastic baggie with your cash and for emergency waterproofing of your electronics in the event of a deluge.

4. Towels to dry off or to sit on. Even superheroes can use a little comfort.

5. Sunscreen to ward off sunburn.

6 & 7. Your disguise to blend in among mere mortals, aka a sunhat and sunglasses.

8. A power stick to charge up your weapons (or your phone, whatever- it’s practically a magical device).

9. Water bottle to quench your powerful thirst.

10. Snacks because you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry hungry. *insert Hulk smash here*

oreomultipack

Sweet snacks can be my kryptonite. I can’t resist them, but it’s much better if they’re in controlled portions, like the OREO 2-pack in my superhero summer stash. There are just 2 cookies in each pack, making them the perfect serving size to satisfy my sweet tooth on-the-go without making it embarrassing when I try to put on that super suit. They’re conveniently packaged to be easily taken with you wherever your adventures take you.

Though I’m not telling you where in my house I’ve hidden our OREO 2-pack multipacks. A superhero has to keep some secrets. But you can find them sold in packages of 18 at your local grocery store.

What’s in your superhero go bag?

Oreos are one of our favorite snacks, too! We always have some with us.

Sweet snacks are my kryptonite too!! I love the idea of these Oreo 2 packs to satisfy my sweet tooth without going overboard.

Snacks. Always snacks. If my bag doesn’t have snacks in it, it’s not really complete.

That’s too cute! I’ve noticed that by the end of the summer I also have a grab ‘n go bag that’s either stocked or just needs a few things added to be ready to go. I grab some cheese sticks for a protein boost. Of course, the last 2 summers I’ve had kids in diapers so, yeah. Diapers forever. ๐Ÿ˜›

These are awesome. I always have snacks. If I forget Oh boy. That and lots of water. We love those oreos. Can’t get enough!

I have been known to have Oreo’s for breakfast. The 2 pack will make a great snack.

That sounds like my kind of bag – especially since there are treats in them. I love Oreos – and to this day, I still split them apart and eat all the creme first!

Is there any other way to eat an OREO? Splitting them is a must!

I am a huge lover of Oreo’s but I could eat the whole box. I love that these small packs are available!

Same here- lots of mindless eating. But if I have to open another pack, it makes me think twice. These are great for portion control.

I pack trail mix and orange slices in my superhero go-bag. I think you’ve got the villains on the run with your great planning. Do watch out, though, because they love to sneak the Oreo cookies and munch them up.

      Those dastardly villains!

My husband loves his Oreos. I plan to surprise him with a box of these over-sized gems for Fathers Day. We’ll do this instead of his favorite candy.

I store away all my superhero stash all throughout the year in preparation! Plus with one of my sidekicks having a summer birthday, we get all new toys at just the right moment!

I really need to make a bag like this to keep in our car. With two boys, you think I’d have one already! I like the idea of controlled snacks…when it comes to Oreos, I can eat them 10 at a time!!

Great goodie bag. Its almost impossible to keep snacks stocked in the house now that I have teens. I think they’ve found all my hiding places.

I always love seeing what people carry in their summer activity bags to get ideas (your hat is super cut by the way). We lug a lot of food around and I live the space saving of the Oreo 2 pack! Also keeps the portion size in check!
