Simple Kindness Challenge: Things They Can’t Say

The smallest act of kindness can really mean so much to someone. We never know what kind of day someone is having and what a small gesture could mean to them.

It doesn’t have to be anything big or costly. An email or text with a thinking of you or miss you message. A batch of cookies baked and shared. A compliment.

Anything positive thrown out there into the world.

Sometimes we know a friend is going through a hard time or we can even tell when a stranger is by the look on their face. But other times, people hide what they’re really going through and could still use that boost.

So, my challenge to you for the weekend (or into next week or whenever you can get to this- there isn’t a time limit on when you can show kindness) is simply to do something, anything, kind for someone else.

And here’s the only catch: not share it.

Sometimes I like seeing kind acts shared across social media- because they can inspire others to do the same or give an idea for what someone else could do. But with it usually comes some back patting. And it’s even well-deserved. Though in this case, let’s just let this be a simple and quiet act of kindness.

If you want, you can challenge others, but try something like this: A small act of kindness can ripple. I put a little out there in the universe today and I bet you can, too. Won’t you join me?
