Quick and Easy Breakfast Shakes: Whole Grain Goodness To Go

This post was created in partnership with Quaker. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No one in my house is a morning person. Getting everyone out the door on time for school can be painful. Even though I’ve made it easier on myself by having things laid out the night before and making my boys responsible for getting themselves ready, it’s still an agonizing process.

The last thing I have time for is to sit down and eat breakfast. Yet, if I don’t eat, I’ll get crabby. And then after dropping off my boys at school, I’ll pull into one of the many drive-thrus on the way home and grab a pastry or a bagel or a chicken biscuit. Not so bad if it’s an occasional treat but having it be a regular thing isn’t good for my wallet or my waistline(it would work against the progress I’ve been making lately).

I need something that I can consume while I’m walking around the house, prodding my kids into getting ready, or take with me when I drive them to school. And it has to be filling or I’ll still want to hit a drive-thru!

Quaker Breakfast Shakes http://bit.ly/1cSke6n have been a good solution for me. They come in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The strawberry is my favorite, followed by the vanilla. I haven’t tried the chocolate because I don’t like any chocolate liquids. But the consistency of the other two make me think that if you do like chocolate, you’ll like this shake, too.

With 8g of whole grain, 10g of protein, and 6g of fiber, these shakes are yummy, easy, and filling, allowing me to get everyone out the door on time for school and still have breakfast!

Sometimes I just don’t have the time to eat breakfast & I need something I can grab and go, so these sound perfect for me.

I would love that, especially because  need the grain part to feel full. And I am always rushed and must have something in my belly before I do my morning gym workout!
    thanks!

I had no idea Quaker made a shake. This is definitely for me since I am always on the go and sometimes forget to eat.

These are perfect for those mornings when I’m racing around the house. I bet they taste awesome!

I have never heard of these! I am excited to go get some to try – I am always looking for healthy quick ways to take my breakfast on the go!

I’m going to look for these. Our meals are usually the quick pick up kind like Pop Tarts.

My go to breakfast is yogurt, a fruit, with water. But a lot of times I miss out on Breakfast because I forget it on my way out the door in the mornings.

These would be great for me before a 5K race! I’m totally a big morning person, we do eggs, bacon, and grits almost daily but some mornings in need something a little less filling!

I had no idea Quaker made a breakfast shake.  It is a really good thing there isn’t a fast food place between my kids school and my house as yeah, I would be swinging by way too much.  I really like bagel thins with a little cream cheese and am usually eating with one hand while I make their lunches with another.

I pass my favorites, too: Panera, Dunkin Donuts, and Chick-fil-a. If I don’t eat, it’s really tempting to stop at one of those!

I have to be honest, I am not, nor have I ever been a breakfast person. I have always just drank a glass of chocolate milk, and now that I am older, my iced coffee. So, this shake might just work for me!

I saw those when I was at the store recently and I was curious about them. Thank you for sharing your review. I may have to buy them now.

I didn’t know they made shakes now. Their granola bars are great for those quick mornings too!

I can’t wait to try these out because I love quick and easy breakfasts! Plus, this is even easier than making my own shake.

I didn’t know that Quaker made shakes. I knew that other brands had some breakfast shakes but not Quaker. I’ll have to give these a taste.

My go-to breakfast is usually a protein bar (the more protein inside, the better!). I have been looking for other options though, so I’ll check out these Quaker breakfast shakes.

This is a great idea especially if you don’t have enough time to prepare breakfast. So a grab and go food is really helpful.

I like the ida of a breakfast shake. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood for food.

I’m curious about the texture, are they thin like water or thicker like milk. The strawberry would probably be the first I tried.

    • Shell says

      March 30, 2014 at 4:43 pm

They are thicker, though definitely still easily drinkable.

These would be so handy to keep around. I am the worst at making time fore breakfast and sometimes even lunch!

  21. Rosey says

    March 28, 2014 at 8:04 am

I sometimes swing through the drivethrough for a bagel too. This sounds much more fulfilling.

I’ve heard great things about these – I’m not a fan of strawberry flavors but I could totally get on board with chocolate.

I love breakfast smoothies, but have never had a breakfast shake. I love Quaker products, so I bet I would love these. I will have to pick some up if I see them at my grocers!

I LOVED the chocolate flavor.  these were perfect for my busy mornings!

These look great, and I love that they have whole grains and 10 grams of protein is fantastic!  I wonder how many carbs one shake has though, as I am careful to count mine, being diabetic.  I love grabbing a shake though, as I tend to not eat breakfast unless it is quick and easy. Thanks s0 much!

I went and looked because you got me curious! The Chocolate has 31 g of carbs.

Thanks for checking!  A little more than I like, but not bad if it is an entire meal.  Especially if it is a choice between drinking a healthy shake or not eating anything, as breaking my fast and drinking the shake is a much better option than not eating at all.

I really need a grab n go sort of breakfast option. These really do seem so yummy. I know I’ve almost grabbed them at the grocery store a few times, maybe next time I should grab them!
