Not Smoopy-smoopy

Hubs and I are far from the smoopy-smoopy, kissy-face, vomit-inducing cute couple.
We love each other, we really do.
But, we both have odd senses of humor and just don’t get all lovey-dovey.
We still let the other know that we love them, but we do it in our own ways.
Since Grammy and Papa were here this weekend(don’t worry, I’m done with the family angst posts…for now), we were able to get out a little bit without the kids in tow.
On Thursday night, we looked out at the beach, saw the full(or almost full, I don’t know) moon, and how beautiful it looked, and decided to go out for a walk around 9pm. The boys were all asleep and with the Grands there, we were able to head out.

Wasn’t it a beautiful night? I took this pic while we were out.

We walked and talked(and drank a bottle of wine between the two of us) for about an hour.

When we got back near our house, we plopped ourselves down in the sand and continued to talk.

Maybe it was the moonlight….

Or the wine….

But, Hubs turned to me and said, “I’m a really lucky man to have you for a wife.”

I burst out laughing and told him, “I’m not giving you beach sex!”

Because I thought that for him to say something so sweet, it must mean he wants a little sumpin’-sumpin’.

But, he continued on, very seriously, explaining all the reasons that he appreciates me and how I totally rock compared to all his friends’ wives.

I had to bite my tongue not to tell him that that was good, since he can’t trade me in for any of them.

And I decided to enjoy our sweet moment instead.

Did you know, according to my husband, that I am a very understanding wife? And supportive, easy-going, a great cook, a fantastic mom, intelligent, funny, and hot.

Wow.

Definitely made me feel good.

Maybe there is something to all this gooey-sweet smoopy-smoopy-ness.

Though, I do think that his final comment about me being “hot” was his attempt to get a little sumpin’-sumpin’, rather than being sincere.

It worked, though. πŸ˜‰

Awww! I know you say you're not the lovey-dovey type…but that is a sweet story!
Every so often my hubby will come off with something like that and I get a wee bit suspicious…like "What in the hell have you done?"
    Kidding…sort of.
I think in your case it was a combination of the moonlight & wine. Does it get much better?

We have similar humour. Outsiders could think we're not 'normal' but hey! we're not normal!
We are crazy, having fun, teasing and respecting each others…and of course there's looooove!
    Life is good! πŸ™‚

Haha- that is so me and my husband. Whenever he has something to drink (which is rare) he gets all sentimental and stuff and I sit there and bite my tongue to stop every wisecrack that is trying to burst forth.

That really was a sweet thing for him to say. Even though you're not a smoopy-smoopy couple, it does feel good to hear it now and then, doesn't it?

It also results in a little smoopy-smoopy!

    What a beautiful night πŸ™‚

Y'all are too cute! I think the funny sarcastic kinda lovey dovey moments are the best…otherwise it just feels forced…but it is nice to have a romantic moment every now and then!

Hope you have a great week!

That's why I'm glad my husband doesn't have any friends. He can't compare me to anyone's wife!

ROFL! Totally cute story!!! Ya know, when it's not your mo to be "smoopy-Smoopy", it really means a lot when those things are said.
I, on the other hand, am so smoopy smoopy. LOL

Thanks for visiting and following my blog. I'm thrilled to have you!

The hubs and I are that sickening sweet lovey-dovey couple, but not to be worried though, we also have the flip side where when he wants and little sumpin' sumpin' I will get shmoozed with such sweet nothings as "Can we play hide the sausage?"

    MEN!

Awwww that was sweet. I think when your not all lovey lovey all the time that when it does happen it is more special. That's just my thoughts….

The man and I are the same way…we both do things our own way and have our oddities in attitudes and personality. I am a huge fan of the saying, "we don't find our perfect match – only the match that is perfect for us"…and boy is THAT true!! Beautiful picture, by the way!

Wow, your hubby is one smooth operator, I have to say! He's much more creative than mine. My hubby just looks at me and says, "So, wanna bend over for a couple minutes?" Yeah, so romantic, right?

Awww I love it! It's ok to get a little mushy now and then. Match and I both love to kid, and I think I'd say the same thing about the beach sex. I love that you got a picture of the coastline at night. My pictures never turn out like that!
