Lynn, over at Midday Escapades has me featured on her Meet ‘n Greet Monday today! How cool is that? Go check it out….if for no other reason than she always has some really awesome giveaways going on!

It’s NOT my children who know how to break these “childproof” locks off the door.
It’s NOT my kids who turned on the faucet and played in the freezing cold water, completely soaking themselves. And it especially is NOT my children who were standing there dripping wet, with one only wearing a pair of pants and one only wearing a t-shirt.
It was NOT me who screamed at them. NOT me who was freaking out, imagining that if I hadn’t caught them when I did, they would have gone down the steps….
across the yard, and out to the beach.
And it was NOT me who needs to invest in some better childproofing gadgets.
Go check out MckMama’s blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
And don’t forget to go stop by Lynn’s blog to say hi!
P.S. I couldn’t play with Supahmommy and MommyBrain because they wanted to know about your best birthday…and all of mine pretty much sucked or were completely unmemorable. Where’s the leftover cake from my pity party last week?
Oh my goodness, Shell! I am so glad it was NOT you that this happened to. Whew!
Thank YOU for being my featured blogger today. I love visiting your blog and I know my readers will too. Happy escapes!
~ Lynn
HOLY MOLY ! Your kids have always been super handy manny crafty with locks and stuff!
You need a bodyguard!
xoxo
Yikes.. as a mama of 3 boys all of whom were crafty like that I can sense your serious fear there. So glad that it all worked out akay despite their attempts at polar bear showers. brrr
How scary! My son snuck out to play in the snow the other day. I freaked out!
I now have a completely different view point about having the beach outside the back door. Secretly, I would still love to have that view.
Glad they're ok!
Yikes! Sounds like something my boys would do. π
Wow, I'm glad that was NOT you! Scary!
That's a beautiful view from your deck, btw!

Oh man, boys!!
Hey, I didn't have a "good" memorable birthday, so you can play along too!! I want to hear about your crappiest, so I can feel better about mine!
Hi, I am stopping by Lynn's to say hello. What a run for your money those boys gave you. I hope you have a great week.
Wow, scary stuff. Glad they were ok.
I am following you now…
It wasnt me who read this post laughing without control…lol
but seriously, glad they are all ok;)
I can just imagine how freaked out you must have been. I know I would be. Reminds me when my son was 2 and wondered off to the orchard beside our house dressed in his diaper only…wouldn't want to re-live that. Worst 20 minutes of my life….
Wow, that must have been scary. My boys are 3 and 1 right now… I know this day is coming for me. Not looking forward to all the trouble I know they're gonna get in to.
Glad things turned out ok. π
Another mom of three boys, we need to form our own little insanity pact.
Followed you here from momalom.
I am so very glad it was not you. Because you were too busy actually sitting back and having a glass of champagne somewhere really relaxing, right? while getting a pedicure?
Right?
Oh. I get it. It WAS you. Glad you held it together Shell. cuh-razy.
Well I'm glad it was NOT you who experienced all of that…ha ha! Love your yard and scenery surrounding you! Beautiful! I can only imagine what it must look like in the summer! π
Buy cages.
Kidding…sort of.
Oh gosh, scary! Glad they were ok.
yet another mom to 3 boys…
and yeah, all about mischief, huh??
π
I think if we team up and invent child-proofing devices that actually stop our children, we'd be rich! I mean, if we actually had children that broke locks, NOT the sweet, innocent well-behaved kids that we do… π
that is so scary!! but when everything gets to quiet you know somethings going on…. glad you found them when you did. i lived in the burgh for 2 years. loveloved it! we want to move there again… for now we're in cold bufffaloooo
OMG! Funny now bbut I'm so sure not then!!I would have so NoT been freaking out too!!
Good LORD…did you almost have a freaking heart attack? and then beat them all senseless on their butts? Just the thought of my kids doing that sends shivers up my spine!
On a side note…I have your pity party cake right here…its a GIANT chocolate chip cookie! I thought I would bring some with me for Bloggy Boot Camp.
Well, not this one…that would be gross.
I'll make you fresh ones.
I would love to have that view too – but I'd be totally freaking out about sleepwalking and things like that!
Ah yes, it's always just when you think you have done enough to childproof, that you are reminded that you haven't. Great story (and glad it all turned out okay)
Isnt it funny how kids can always get past the so called 'child proofed'?
OMG scary….my little one is just starting to reach the door handles. This totally freaks me out I feel for you but I had to laugh with all the pictures you took!
Oh no! I can totally seeing my youngest son getting in on that! Time to ebay the childproofing gear!
Those little stinkers! They definitely need to invent better door security. I always felt those were pretty shoddy too!
Where do kids come up with these things?? They totally know how to outsmart us.
That sounds like something baby girl will do when she is a little older. Yikes!!
@^%$# what a start to your week! Makes me kinda wana get better locks for my doors as it's only a matter of time with my own Bear, I'm sure.
PS: oh, how I wish you could make money trees be real!
That is super scary!
Hilarious! I know. It wasn't at the time… but is yet?
My nephews sneaked outside while my sis-in-law was in the shower and promptly locked themselves out. The oldest had to use the bathroom and couldn't so decided to take a dump on the front porch then he ran up and down the sidewalk without pants on until said sil rounded them up and barracaded herself in the house for the rest of the day out of complete embarrassement.
Boys are awesome.
My 22 month old tried to sneak upstairs today a playgroup! Children are so busy! Stopping by from SITS!
Quiet is always cause for concern!
I think child proof items are actually parent proof. Thank goodness they are ok though and that you did Not holler at them for scaring the crap outta you!!
Oh, how scary! I don't have kids, but my nephews and niece have taught me that childproof usually means "only the child can open it."
My kids figured out those darn childproof door knobs too awhile ago, much to my dismay. What a gorgeous view of the beach you have from your home!!!!
Childproof right! Ever wonder where the hell they find the "kids" who test the so called childproof products? I do.
Ah yes, the peaceful quiet is always mischief in the making!
Can I just tell you though, I would be a nervous wreck living there…I would have nightmares about them and the beach. I get a little panicky just thinking of it for you!
So glad they didn't escape all the way to the beach! Scary thought!
Stopping in from SITS
I'm pretty sure you're raising some little McGuivers there.
It was NOT ME who said to my husband "How many more times are you going to be off when I'm home?"
I saw you over at Midday Escapades! And I would so be on the beach if I lived that close…nothing would keep me away.
That DOES sound like something my little boy would do! I had to explain to him why he had to wear shoes and a coat outside when we had 2 feet of snow!
