We’re just about a month away from Easter. I’m so ready for Spring weather!
Time to take down my Valentine’s Day wreath and put up an Easter wreath. When I made my Valentine’s Day ribbon wreath, I did really like it and think I’ll probably make another like it for another holiday. But I wanted to try something different this month- something really quick and inexpensive.
I made this Easter wreath in less than 5 minutes and it costs less than $10!
Here’s what you need:
- 13.8″ foam wreath
- Easter themed garland (mine was 9ft)
- Easter pick of your choice (Easter decoration on a stick, as us uncrafty people call them)
- 6-8 inches of ribbon (you won’t see this, so it doesn’t matter what kind- I used some leftover from my Valentine’s Day wreath, but an inch or so wide will work better than really thin ribbon since this is what you’re using to hang your wreath)
Staple the end of your Easter garland to the back of your foam wreath. No one’s going to see the back so don’t worry about positioning here.
Wind the garland around your wreath.
If you can see that your garland is going to be just enough to cover the wreath, go ahead and staple the end to the back of the foam wreath, close to where you stapled the starting end. This way, you can adjust the garland to cover the foam wreath. If you have more than enough, adjust first, then staple.
Take your Easter pick and position it where you want it in the center of your wreath. Insert the stick into the wreath, making sure you don’t push the stick all the way through the wreath. You might need to cut the stick shorter so your bunny (or whatever you chose) sits where you want it to. The bunny head was leaning forward on my wreath, so I put a little hot glue on the back tips of its ears and glued it to the garland.
Fold a 6-8 inch strip of ribbon in half and staple to the back of your wreath to make a hanger. Use a few staples, since the ribbon might rip through just one (voice of experience here).
And there you go: an Easter wreath done in just a few minutes and for less than $10.
A note on supplies:
I bought all my supplies at Hobby Lobby. Their Easter craft supplies are currently 40% off, though that will probably be an even better deal the closer we get to Easter. Then I used a 40% off coupon for the foam wreath- you can pull that coupon up on your phone in store by visiting their site. Michael’s is having similar sales right now, too.
