Summer means no school, no homework, and a not-as-strict bedtime for my kids. But it also means some pretty fabulous shows are back on tv.
For the past few months, I’ve been chatting about my favorite shows using Beamly, the social network for tv: joining in TV Rooms to discuss live shows, following shows to read all the latest news about them, and following other tv fanatics to chat all things summer tv.
PLL(Pretty Little Liars) is back and my head is already spinning trying to figure out who A is and if we’ll ever really find out. During the show, in the PLL TV Room on Beamly, we OMG together over all the twists and turns and try to predict what will happen next.
Once SYTYCD(So You Think You Can Dance for those of you who are missing out on this show) picks their top 20 dancers, and I get all emotionally connected to my favorite dancers, I’ll be in that TV Room rooting for them like a wild woman.
Suits(I hate Harvey and Mike being at odds with each other and seriously, just when are Harvey and Donna going to get together?) and True Blood(last season!!!) are more of my summer faves and I’ve joined those rooms in Beamly, too.
What’s been really cool about The Challenge room is that some of the contestants from the show join in the chat, too. And once Big Brother starts, there are plenty of former houseguests who are on Beamly, so they’ll be dropping by to discuss(and maybe even slam) the new houseguests’ gameplay.
In addition to the live chats, if you follow a show on Beamly, you can see all the latest news related to that show. I’ve been using it as Hubs watches the World Cup. I check out the articles and can impress Hubs and my boys by saying things like “Did you see the fan who ran on the field and shined Messi’s shoes?”
Joining Beamly has added a lot of fun to my summer tv watching. I hope you’ll join, too: it’s free in the App Store and on Google Play. Find me by entering my username(Shellthings) in the search bar at the top of your screen.
