My boys are very active. They are on soccer, basketball, and running teams. They like to jump on the trampoline, shoot hoops in the driveway, and ride their bikes down the street.
They also like to play on their devices. I think they are getting enough exercise, but are they really?
The ibitz™ by GeoPalz® is a wireless pedometer. The new ibitz Kid and Adult Wireless Pedometers, are physical activity based devices and apps that wirelessly syncs to your iOS Bluetooth 4.0® (BLE) phone or tablet and allows adults and children their own unique experience with personalized apps.
The ibitz for kids wireless pedometer syncs to a rewards platform app. You can set goals and rewards such as screen time or play time or a special outing. Kids can also earn coins and content on Disney’s Club Penguin™. This would be a great way for kids to see how much they are moving each day and to motivate them to move more.
My oldest is ultra competitive and while there aren’t any days when he has a low activity level, he likes to see if he can beat the previous day’s steps.
There’s a durable clip for hip and shoe- I attached it to my son’s waistband and he wears it at school and has no problems with it coming off, not even during his after-school running program. The ibitz™ is available in 7 kid-friendly colors and is water-resistant. The free iOS app syncs device wirelessly. It’s available for $34.99 on Best Buy.
The ibitz Unity for adults($49.99 at Best Buy) tracks steps, distance, weight (added manually), height, overall physical activity, even BMI, and allows them to incorporate their family and friends. Now you are able to form groups and post your progress on social media. I’m learning how much more my 9 year old moves than I do- I think I might need to do something about that!
