Two Christmases ago, a new tradition was born in my house.
The boys woke up on Christmas morning to discover that not only had Santa brought them their presents, but Mommy caught Santa as he was unloading the gifts and took his picture!
They were so excited!
The next year, they started asking early if I would try to get another picture of Santa. Not only did I catch Santa, but he took a little nap on the couch beside my youngest.
They cannot wait to see what I manage to catch Santa doing this year!
These pictures were made with iCaughtSanta.com: you simply upload your pic, then choose from 20 different Santas and add him to your pic, and then you can share! Facebook, twitter, download, print: anyway you want to share it!
You can zoom into different areas of your photo, and change the size, placecment, and brightness of Santa. You can even add a festive border.
The great thing about iCaughtSanta.com photos is that you can wait until Christmas Eve to create yours! You can even send gift codes to relatives/friends for them to create their own. Gift Cards and eGift Certificates cost $9.99 for the first and $4.99 for all others up to 10. Though if you enter the code SANTA50 at check-out, you’ll get your order for 50% off!
Or, maybe you’ll win a code to make your own iCaughtSanta.com photo.
Giveaway: 5 of you will win a gift code to create one iCaughtSanta.com photo. Winners will be randomly selected and notified after 9pm TONIGHT.
To enter: Simply leave me a comment with one of your Christmas traditions. (Before 9pm ET, please!)
I received a code to create my own picture, though I was going to buy one anyway- because it’s tradition. π
This giveaway is now closed and winners have been notified via email.
That is SO fun! I’ve never heard of it before – but my 5 year old would love it.
One of our Christmas traditions is to do homemade goodies as gifts. This year were truffle assortments, canned jellies/jams from our garden, and homemade applesauce/cinnamon ornaments.
What a fun and awesome idea!! We have to do this π
We do not have a ton of family traditions yet. I suppose the only one we’ve made so far is that we make Santa’s cookies together (me and the kids) on the 23rd. This way Santa has freshly made chocolate chip cookies. Which he loves of course π
Ooops I was supposed to leave a tradition, we have a Christmas village set up and we sit in front of the village and I make up stories about each of the kids traveling through the village, they love it, even my oldest.
That is really neat.
One of our traditions is the advent calendar…chocolate every night. The other day, Baby Diva was pulling her calendar out of the pantry. They are from Trader Joes so not ones to display. It’s just a cardboard countdown. I had to lock the pantry. Unfortunately, she’s already eaten the 24th.
My boys would love this =)
Our Christmas tradition is cutting down our tree every year. The boys love that they get to get down and “help” Daddy cut it down.
One of our traditions is to get a family ornament every year.
I was just thinking of doing this! My sister and I were on their site this weekend! As a child our tradition was we all watched movies and my mom made us tons of apps! But starting with my boys, I am hoping to get in our Christmas pjs, watch Polar Express and set out the milk and cookies for Santa π
A tradition I started last year was to have Christmas pj’s that the boys get to unwrap and wear on Christmas Eve night. They usually get to open one other gift as well, but it always depends on their behavior. π
Those are really cute. For our tradition we open one gift on Christmas eve. We also spend Christmas day with my parents and the day after with Hubby’s to celebrate my MIL’s bday
We did this last year and my kids loved it!
One of our traditions is to drive to a local house to check out their crazy Christmas displays.
ohhhh what a DARLING idea. i’m SO doing this- and a great gift idea, too! π
one tradition: making sticky buns (though last year it was monkey bread but the sticky buns are easier and tastier) Christmas morning, first thing.
So cute! We always open one gift on Christmas Eve after attending the midnight candle light service at our church.
This is so cool! Even if I don’t win I’m going to make one…
let’s see…favorite tradition? Does complaining how tired I am during the holiday season count?
Baking Christmas goodies and giving it as gifts to neighbors, friends, teachers and classmates.. π

I’d LOVE to win this! π A mean 5th grader at my sons afterschool care told him Santa wasn’t real! π I’d love to show him this just to give him that extra reassurance that he most certainly IS real! π
One of my favorite traditions is getting new pj’s on Christmas Eve. My mom did it for my sister and I growing up, and she still continues to do it for us now and our children! π
This is the most AWESOME thing I have seen for the girls in a VERY ling time! I’m tickled!! Love it!!
Our family tradition is after mass on Christmas Eve we come home, put our pjs on, pour hot cocoa into travel mugs and drive around for an hour looking at all of the houses decorated with lights.
Merry Christmas!
These photos are so cute! I would love to start a brand new tradition:)
We have magic snow that doesn’t melt. Every year Santa leaves snowy footprint near the tree. Annabelle gets such a kick out of it every year.
We don’t leave Santa cookies in our house. We leave him sausage balls and a glass on wine. After all those cookies and milk, we think he needs a change. I would love to win this code. Oldest is starting not to believe.
Oh, this looks like a blast!
Our kids are so little that traditions haven’t really become traditions yet. But John has made sure that they already know Christmas carols. We love to listen to him play them on the piano.
Sounds like a tradition to me!
You won. Email coming in a minute with your code!
That is the BEST idea ever!!!! I am SO going to look into that!!!!
One of our old traditions when I was growing up (and lasted well after I knew the secret of santa) was to put out a ham sandwhich for Santa rather than cookies. I got a note back from him one year asking for the sandwhich rather than cookies becuase he needed a good meal before he went on his way. So, after that, we always made one for him. I think we kept doing it right up until I moved out! hehe
That.is.AWE.SOME! I love that idea! I didn’t know such a thing existed! It’s genius!
It seems like Christmas tradition in our house is a mad dash to finish wrapping gifts at the last minute!
Elf on the Shelf has become one of our Christmas traditions, or I hope it will be. It’s our first year to do it, being that my daughter is just a year and a half old. Right now the only “real” tradition is creating ornaments from her hand prints to give to family and teachers. I can’t wait until she’s old enough to really participate and do things like decorate cookies or make paper ring garlands.
I remember your picture from last year. So cute! This might be the last year I could do this. My little guy is on the fence. This would totally convince him! LOL
One of our traditions? We hang paper snowflakes from the ceiling with fishing line. I love to share Psalm 51:7 with them when we do it. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. <3
We put a chocolate orange in every stocking each year. The kids (little and big) love it.
what a great idea! especially since my eldest is asking THE question about Santa.
One of our Christmas traditions is to attend the candle light service at our church. This year my mom and dad will be there, and DH and I have a reading in the service, so it will be extra special. Then home to open one gift before bed.
We open one present on Christmas Eve! :]

Love it! Maybe that would help my middle kid not be scared of the creepy guy who keeps wanting to sneak into Grandpa’s house!
My favorite tradition is making candy. I use my grandma’s recipes. It helps me keep her memory close.
We unwrap gifts youngest to oldest, stockings are always last, and breakfast pizza is always on the menu.
Oh my gosh, this is GENIUS! It lets kids believe in magic, which is the most fun part!
Our Christmas tradition is that each Christmas morning, Santa not only leaves presents, but he leaves his (now empty) Christmas sack too! It looks a lot like a potato sack, but it’s very magical! Sometimes it even a bit of leftover reindeer food at the bottom that he forgot to take out π
I love it. That’s awesome. I’m going to make that our new Christmas tradition.
Our current favorite – Christmas pjs all day on Christmas.
This is a great idea! Too cute!
Our tradition is basically to open on gift on Christmas Eve…and then go nuts on Christmas Day. There is no order. We just rip open presents.
We go nuts on Christmas day, too. It’s fun that way.
You won. π Emailing you the code in just a minute.
The iCaughtSanta.com idea is really great! We don’t have any big traditions. We just plan an evening of driving around looking at Christmas lights.
Such a great idea! I’m totally doing this for my kids this year! Thanks for sharing!
This is so cute! I’ve seen a couple mentions of this site and finally checked it out through your post, and it’s an awesome idea. I can only imagine how excited the kids are by it. We’ll have to start it for D. One of our Christmas traditions is having those donut-like dunkin’ sticks on Christmas morning. π
I love donuts. I might have to get some for Christmas this year.
You won. Look for the code in your email.
Sweet! Is there a time limit on the code? My girl will be a year in April so next Christmas might work out for this. I’m super excited to find this cool idea along with the “elf on the shelf” I’ve recently heard about. I can’t wait to start these traditions with her.
One of my fav traditions that we’re introducing Lovebug to this year is luminaries at my husband’s nana’s. She’s still a little young to understand and participate, but never too young to start!
Never heard of that before but its sounds fun. We have a “nut” prize. We usually serve eggnog shakes with a nut hidden in one of them. The person who gets the nut gets to open a gift that is generally a game or puzzle for the family to enjoy a few days before Christmas.
Sandy
Fun! We’re going to look at Christmas lights tonight! My little one is too young to understand what Christmas is but I’m sure love all the twinkling of the lights!
Love this idea! I am so going to do this!!
I think my favourite tradition is when everyone gathers on Mom and Dad’s bed to open their stockings on Christmas morning. We usually try to capture a family photo then too, before all the chaos that is opening presents!
How fun is this! Christmas morning we make the kids all wait before they can go downstairs. I go down and get ready to take pictures then they come down together. They open stockings first and then we go youngest to oldest taking turns opening presents.
I think this is so amazing. I will definately have to do this for my little boy! Growing up, Santa left boot prints in the living room and a thank you note for the cookies. We also gave Santa a gift beside his hot cocoa and cookies. The reindeer also left tracks outside for us to find! Another fun thing we did was pick out the wrapping paper Santa used to wrap presents. We left this paper standing in a corner beside the tree.
This is so adorable! I just the link to this post to a few of my mommy friends–love this idea!
Oh my heart, Shell! That napping picture! You? Are a swoon-worthy Mama! xo
Ahhh! My boys would LOOOOOVE this!! I love that they still believe, and my oldest is 8. They are having so much fun with the Elf on the Shelf this year and last that I think it will be around for a long time! I hope anyway.
You won! Code coming in your email.
Super cute idea. One of my favorite traditions is seeing the lights at the park.
Also I didn’t hear GFC was going away. I’m bummed. I like it.
Oh, that’s cute!! We do jammies for the kids on Christmas Eve. It’s the only present they get to open before the morning π
You won! Code sent to your email.
Our favorite Christmas tradition is reading “The Night Before Christmas” before putting the kids to bed on Christmas Eve!
Cute!!
One of our traditions is to leave surprise treats and activities in the kids’ bedrooms so that when they wake up Christmas morning, mommy and daddy can sleep a little longer π
We always, without fail, put on the new jammies, brought pillows and blankets out into the living room and watched “The Christmas Story’ until falling asleep by the glow of the Christmas tree and the television. My daughter is 23, almost 24, now and the tradition still lives on.
That is awesome!!
We leave Milk and Cookies for Santa and we leave granola “reindeer food”.
On Christmas Eve, everyone opens one present. And, it’s always their Official Christmas PJ’s!
