Go Outside and Play! #CutterRepellents

Tracking PixelThis is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cutter® Insect Repellents.

Go outside.

It’s my summer mantra. Go run, bike, jump, swim, play, even just lay down and watch the clouds or read a book. Whatever it is you do, go outside.

cutter insect repellent

My three boys will try to give me excuses as to why they should stay inside(aka play video games all day long).

The first excuse they try is telling me there’s nothing to do outside(cue this mama falling down on the floor laughing). Ride your bike, go for a run, jump on the trampoline, shoot baskets, play soccer, play cornhole, play tag, draw with sidewalk chalk, have a water gun fight, or create a game to play. There’s always something to do. We’ve found quite a bit to do this summer, as you’ll see in this short video(I’ll be showing this video to my kids anytime they try to send me on a guilt trip about not doing anything fun this summer).

The second excuse they use is that they are hungry or thirsty. There’s nothing wrong with a snack break, but then it’s back out! And besides, the best snacks are messy and should be eaten outside anyway: watermelon, ice cream, snow cones, s’mores.

Their third excuse is that they are getting eaten alive by bugs. And here is where I empathize instead of repeating my summer mantra of go outside. It’s not comfortable to get bitten. Earlier in the summer, we were at a cookout with some friends and my legs were bitten up so badly, I lost track of the number of bites. It wasn’t pretty and it definitely wasn’t fun.

But we’ve started using Cutter® All Family® Mosquito Wipes and other Cutter® insect repellent products. Cutter® fends off funsuckers and lets us enjoy our time outside.

Cutter® All Family® Mosquito Wipes are lightly scented protection against mosquitoes, ticks, biting flies, gnats, no-see-ums, chiggers and fleas. It repels mosquitoes that may carry West Nile virus. The 7% DEET formula meets the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for use on children. The wipes make application very easy.

CutterRepellents 2

I’ve been using the Cutter®Skinsations®Insect Repellent Pump, which has a clean, fresh scent as well as aloe and Vitamin E to moisturize my skin.

What I’m finding is that I really need to use it when I’m sitting on the beach and my boys are splashing around out in the water or I’ll get eaten up by bugs. It works for all those nights we’re outside, hanging out with our neighbors, too. Don’t forget to spray your feet if you’re like me and live in flip flops.

Cutter® is helping my family enjoy a safe, happy summer outdoors. It’s not just the kids who need to go outside, it’s me, too!

Be sure to check out the Cutter® Facebook Page to learn more about their products and to enter their “like to win” promotions that happen weekly/bi-weekly in the news feed, making it easy to enter.

What is your favorite outdoor summer activity?

I love the light bug spray that smells good. We have TONS of mosquitos in GA, so bug spray is a must for us!

Yes, go outside and PLAY!!!  It is summer time in Baltimore City and there are no children to be found.  I get we don’t live in a lush neighborhood where a nightly game of kick-the-can is can happen, but spend some time at the park.  I feel for these children glued to a video game.

I love playing badminton in the summer, but only if I’m wearing insect repellent. Mosquitoes will ruin a moment faster than anything.

The mosquitoes are so horrible this year – so annoying. Oh and on a side note… my 5 year old, I can’t keep her INSIDE. She wakes up and begs to go out to play lol.

The kids and I enjoy swimming and playing soccer during the summer. It’s unfortunate that kids would rather be inside playing video games rather than being outside.

We’ve been having to restock our bug spray this summer. It’s been rough!

There is nothing worse than getting bitten by bugs when you are outside. Thanks for sharing this fun post and giving us a great recommendation for bug control. I also have some bored boys and hear myself saying the same thing as you. You look like you have a great backyard. I can’t wait to connect with your family again next month.

I must try this! We love the outdoors but are prone to bug bites and we have really bad reactions to them. I love the option of using wipes vs. pump and the fact that it has a great scent is a bonus!

What a great product. From walking to playing flashlight tag, this would be great to keep the bugs away.

My daughter loves going outside, even if it is just to sit around and read. But when she comes back in, she is always covered in big bites! I will definitely have to get her some Cutter!

We need this. We’ve been getting eaten up by bugs around here!
