Blissed Out Thanks to LeadCheck

I spent the past few days at the Blissdom Conference in Nashville. It was inspiring and informative…and a whole lot of fun.

What you realize from meeting all of these wonderful women in person is that each one of us has a story: each one of us has our successes, we all have our own struggles that we have overcome or are working to overcome.

We’re all very real.

My own personal story has been affected by my middle son who has lead poisoning.  Those of you who read me regularly know that I blog about all aspects of my life and not just about lead poisoning, but that is a part of my life.  A very real struggle.

While at Blissdom, I was able to share more about my son’s lead poisoning and talk about LeadCheck, which has at-home testing kits for lead.  Lead poisoning is not something to be taken lightly and many people are not aware of the damage that it can cause; I wish that I didn’t know all of the details about it, but unfortunately, as a mom of a child with lead poisoning, I’ve learned.

LeadCheck did sponsor me for the conference and I thank them very much for doing so.  I very much believe in their products and feel like our partnership was a natural one.

I would encourage you to check out their at-home testing kits for lead; you can also check out my review of their products.  They are definitely worth buying. You do not want any of your children to have to deal with lead poisoning.

I wish mine didn’t.  And that is where my passion for this product comes from.

LeadCheck did sponsor me for Blissdom, however, all opinions of their company and product are my own.

Shell, I've haven't totally been in your shoes, but when my now 5 yr old son was 2, he had a lead test come back with elevated levels. Come to find out my house was engolfed in lead. I had to completly guy my house…new walls, new windows, new ceilings, the whole nine yards. Thankfuly, his lead levels are now to a normal level, and he has no lasting effects.
I commend you! I know how scary it can be! Glad you had a good time in Blissdom!

We bought Baby a cute toy while on vacation. Just as I was going to pull it out, clean it up, and give it to her today … I thought: no, wait. I'm definitely going to order an at home testing kit first. Who knows what is in that paint. It was made in Jamaica. Maybe. I know nothing. And, Baby still crams everything in her mouth. Thanks for making me more aware about lead. πŸ™‚

I'm also glad you've posted about your son and his Lead poisoning. Just a few weeks ago my husband and I were watching House Hunters and the couple buying a house was doing a lead test…my husband commented that "nobody actually gets lead poisoning anymore!" To which I told him, he was wrong! But, only thanks to you, did I know that!

I have been a longtime follower but have to admit that with my own blog and so many things going on in my life daily – that I don't often get a chance to actually sit down and read a lot of posts by other bloggers. I go through and read maybe 5-10 a day of the hundred plus I follow. I've read many things of yours in the past that I liked…but I never realized nor had read anything regarding your son having Lead poison. Reading this now – I too am thankful you got to go to Blissdom with a great sponsor – but also am way more educated in the last hour simply because I just took the time to go back and read some of your past blogs as well as other info on lead poisoning. Thanks for sharing your life and journey!

God bless you and my prayers are with you and your family as you continue to always deal with repercussions of this in your life.

I'm glad you had a good time and even more happy that you found a sponsor that so naturally supports your cause.

I'm even more sad I didn't go… I just found out The Girl Child's godfather relocated from The Great White North to Nashville… I haven't seen him in forever!

That's such a great sponsorship – something that you can relate to and personally endorse.

I totally relate in that my kids regularly get lead tests given the age of our home and the number of renovations we do! It's awesome that you are getting the word out there and I'm so sorry your little one had lead poisoning. I hope your message spreads far and wide!
