And must facebook/tweet that she is going.
And possibly check in on foursquare or yelp.
She wonders if anyone would mind if she instagrammed the pretty candles set up for Candlelight Yoga.
She breaths in and out and tries to focus.
Out of the corner of her eye, she sees a new twitter mention notification flicker across her screen and shoves her phone under her sweatshirt so the light won’t distract her or anyone else.
She hears the teacher say something really profound and wonders if she could quickly tweet that little gem out. Maybe with a #yogatweet or #yogawisdom or #frommyyogamat hashtag.
She notices that her yoga mat is looking really worn and tries to remember who sent her this mat for review and if they’d be willing to send her a new one.
She wobbles a bit in a balancing pose and thinks that if she falls, someone needs to capture it in a picture so she can blog about what a big klutz she is.
She regains her balance and thinks there’s got to be some sort of metaphor there about this pose and finding a work-life balance. She should remember that and blog about it later.
She realizes she’s actually putting her yoga pants to use at yoga and not just as a mom blogger uniform. She wonders if she should take a poll on facebook and ask how many people have worn their yoga pants for actual yoga.
She thinks perhaps this calls for a new pair of yoga pants.
And she mentally reviews her emails, trying to remember what athletic wear companies she’s worked with.
She notices the super cute outfit the girl beside her is wearing and thinks oooh, post idea: cutest yoga gear for the couch or the mat.
She gets distracted by the really loud breathing coming from the only guy in the class and thinks that if she ever managed to get her husband to a yoga class, she’d need to vlog that.
She takes a sip from her water bottle that she got from a blogging conference. Because damn, it’s hot in here. She could never do hot yoga.
Post idea: different types of yoga classes.
Another post idea: 9 things you should know before you attend your first yoga class.
She realizes her mind has been racing during the whole class and maybe that defeats the purpose of yoga class. But then she realizes that she was told in another yoga class that it’s impossible to totally quiet your mind unless you’re dead. She wonder if she ever published the post about that or if it’s just sitting in her drafts.
She lays down for final relaxation and figures no one would appreciate the light from her phone if she checked in on instagram real quick.
She manages to actually relax but then almost starts to giggle when she thinks about the possibility that she could fall fast asleep and somehow be left in the yoga studio overnight. The weird places moms will fall asleep if given a chance to actually rest- another post idea.
On the way out, she gets into a discussion with her yoga instructor about a yoga festival they’ve both been to. Gets looked at like she has two heads when she mentions she was there because of blogging.
Tweets that she survived the yoga class.
Drives home and immediately writes a post about what happens when a blogger goes to a yoga class.

I could have been doing this too. Yoga class sounds like a great place to brainstorm.
LMBO although never in a Yoga class I would love to go. I do however find something worth blogging about nearly every where I go for any reason. It is an addiction I tell ya an addiction.
Hilarious! Loved the conscience streaming mode. That’s how it was for me last night as I was NOT SLEEPING for hours beside my snoring husband. Have a great monday.
Haha! I can totally relate to this. While I haven’t been to a yoga class, I have had the same thoughts running through my head at the most random times. You know you’re a blogger when… 😉
Haha! This is classic. I do this in everything. Yes, yoga class too!
Too true.
This is so true! And very funny.
you make me giggle…and you remind me why I would be REALLY BAD at yoga. Too distracted. 😉
LOL
I used to get some great ideas for blog posts in the shower, drying my hair, or the best, the one hour I spent swimming laps! Lucky for me, no cell phone in the water!!
Love it Shell!
Loved it! Makes me think of two things: 1) I’ve really gotta get in on this reviewing action. I could use some yoga pants and water bottles. 2) That one time I got to have a massage and I woke myself up snoring. Loudly. =)
I’ve been the only guy in the yoga class . . . we’re thinking “please don’t let anything slip out of our shorts, please don’t let anything slip out of our shorts”
Such is the life of a blogger.
So glad it isn’t just me. So glad.
I get LOTS of post ideas while breastfeeding. And in the shower. 🙂
That is exactly how bloggers think.
LOL I have never been to a yoga class, but I only wear my yoga pants about once per week. 😉
Tehehe… The whole passing gas thing is why I don’t do yoga with other people. I get enough giggles at home from my girls.
This is me… at so many things I do. It really is a blogger thing isn’t it!
There are time I wonder if my kids or husband get annoyed by it….
Oh my God – you are too funny! And I would totally sell my soul to review LuLulemon!
This was hilarious and so, so true! I can’t even go to the grocery store or do laundry without thinking of future posts. I can never quiet my mind during yoga either. I’m always afraid because my hearing isn’t that great that I’ll be the only one still in a pose because I didn’t hear the instructor say to switch.
Lol! We are an odd bunch huh? Which is probably why blogging conferences are so popular– nice to be with people that think like us.
ah, I’ve done one yoga class and I totally did the same thing….I left the class not relaxed at all and feeling guilty as hell to boot for not breathing out my negative energy or whatever you’re supposed to do
Love it, Shell! Shared.
So funny! And so true. I haven’t been to a yoga class since I started blogging, but I know this to be true for me based on every other outing I take during the day. 🙂
Love it! The only thing I ever thought about during yoga was how much more I was sweating than anyone else in the room.
Love this!!! So how my mind works.
The only two big differences is that I would never be caught dead in a yoga class because I am so not flexible and am terrified of that whole gas thing (a little pre-disposed to the gassiness- you know) and I lose every good thought that comes into my head as soon as I walk in the front door of the chaos that is known as my home!
haha
I always think of blog posts in the most obscure places and then don’t remember what I thought was a good post!
LOL…so true, so true! 🙂
lol Too funny! Ive never been to yoga. I am SO not flexible. At all.
hahaha. this is perfect. you totally captured what my monkey mind would have been up to as well. ~~xox
Totally hilarious…i do this all the time when I workout. And yes…lululemon pants are insanely expensive!! I often look on ebay!
OH. My. Goodness. *Smiles* This post made me laugh, and cry and bob my head and agreement 😉 I actually read it while walking on the treadmill and came back just to comment… because as I was reading it, it reminded me of exactly the thoughts that go through my head as I walk the treadmill.
This right here is exactly why Yoga just doesn’t work for me! I have tried it many times and seem to come up with the same result.
Hilarious. So so true. :>
Sometimes I have a hard time quieting the mind, too. Heck all the time. But yoga (sometimes) is really great for that. It sounds as though you enjoyed the class (and seriously–how in the heck do I get to review Lululemon clothes/!?)
XOXO
