4 Looks for Moms and 2 Secret Weapons

Even I have to get out of my yoga pants now and then. Or my swimsuit, since I’ve been practically living in that all summer when it’s too hot for yoga pants. Here’s a look at what’s in my closet:

Usually, the only kind of pants that I feel comfortable in are ones with stretchy waists. I call pants that button yet are still comfortable “unicorn pants” since they’re that rare. But I have two pairs of them in this post for you. These are the Arden Capris from Aventura. I am an ambassador for them but I bought this pair in white after adoring a pair in another color. They’re usually $75 but if you let me know you want a discount code, you can get them for $30. You can wear them rolled like I did here or longer. Tank is from Lilly Pulitzer – I fell in love with this Red Right Return print but in general, I love prints like this because they don’t seem to need accessories, which makes a mom’s life easier.

This is the other pair of unicorn pants. These are from New York and Company, the Soho Jeans Relaxed Boyfriend. Right now, they are BOGO, which means I now want to go buy them in all the other washes. Tee is from Boy Mom Designs– be sure to watch their instagram account because they’re always posting deals and coupon codes- they also have a Girl Mom line, too, for those of you who don’t live in the land of boys.

I’ve worn this slip dress so many times this summer. It’s super comfy and yet it looks dressy. Again with the bold print so I skip accessories (I know much more fashionable people than me would add them, but I like that I don’t have to). This was a find from someone who sells on instagram: wavesofstyleboutique. She has really cute things, reasonable prices, and she ships quickly. Be sure to check out her account.

Yes, I do default to super comfy workout type clothes quite a lot- I’ve been ordering from Fabletics for about a year and a half now, though usually I get yoga pants instead of shorts. The heat got to me and I figured I could use another pair of shorts. It’s a monthly subscription, though you get to pick what items you want, in what size and color, or you can click a button to easily skip that month. Right now, you can get your first 2 piece outfit for only $25. If you want to check them out, I’d love if you used my affiliate link: Fabletics.

Now, for the secret weapons. The COMFORTABLE secret weapons.

I’m way too old for visible panty lines. I had the opportunity to try two different solutions (these are the only two things in this post that someone sent me or was in a swag bag- the rest are just what was in my closet). Bumbrella is a hipster brief (or thong, but I went with the brief) and slip combo that provides coverage under sheer dresses and gives you a smooth look. I’ve worn it with the slip dress above and with this dress that while not sheer, would have otherwise shown panty lines if not for the Bumbrella.

The other one I tried is the Jockey Skimmies Slipshort, which can be worn under skirts, dresses, or even pants. They smooth things out but without being hot. I wore them under a dress last night because I knew it was going to be really hot (didn’t want the dreaded thigh rub) and I’d be sitting on the ground at a concert, so they kept me from flashing anyone.

What’s a favorite outfit you have in your closet?

I have those fabletics shorts that you are wearing. I love them. My favorite thing in my closet is maxi skirts, instantly put together and comfortable.

I love your outfits. I basically live in jeans and t-shirts.
