HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® for Summertime Fun

This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program I’m participating in with The Motherhood and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. I was sent a box of products and compensated for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.

We have one more day of school left. I’ve been counting down more than the kids have. I can’t wait to not have to watch the clock as much and be able to have some fun with my family!

We plan on staying cool by swimming at the pool and playing on the beach. Of course there will be some soccer mixed in and my oldest wants to run a few races.

healthy essentials

Those are some of my kids’ favorite activities at this time of year, but there is plenty you can do to enjoy the sunshine and be outdoors! Here are a few ideas for playtime and summer fun to consider for your own family:
  • Get kids in the yard to play water games – from running through the sprinkler to playing “tag” with foam balls soaked in water; it will help keep the whole family cool!
  • Hit the trail, whether it’s riding bikes together around the neighborhood, visiting a local park or taking a day trip to hike in a state park and get back to nature.
  • Invest in a package of sidewalk chalk and let kids’ imaginations and artistic creativity run wild. You can use the chalk to set up a game of hopscotch or marbles, too.
  • Cultivate the family’s interest in gardening with a few herbs and tomato plants, whether it’s a small bed in your backyard or a few pots on the patio.

With all that running around, we have to be sure we’re prepared with all the essentials we’ll need, so my family and I can enjoy the great outdoors and have a fabulous vacation. This includes being proactive about protecting our skin with Neutrogena® Wet Skin Kids Sunscreen and ULTRA SHEER® Dry-Touch Sunscreen. It’s no fun to deal with a sunburn!

And because my kids are accident-prone(like their mama), we keep BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages and NEOSPORIN® with us when we go anywhere so we can quickly get back to doing what we love.
