Old School Blogging

Remember those blog tags where you had to answer questions and then tag other bloggers? There are some bloggers who are bringing back that old school blogging style. And since I was tagged by Frelle, I thought I’d play along!

What were you doing 10 years ago?

I was a newlywed. I taught elementary school. I read a ton of books, took naps, went to yoga all the time, and generally did whatever I wanted to because I had no children to take care of. Of course life is better now with the kids… but it was an awful lot less busy back then!

What 5 things are on your to do list?

My to-do lists can make me panicky because they are gigantic. So, I’ll just give you my to-do list for today:

  1. Fold and put away the laundry that has taken over the loveseat.
  2. Pack clothes for Blissdom.
  3. Teacher conference for my kindergartener.
  4. Finish youngest’s paperwork for school enrollment for next year.
  5. Soccer practice for two oldest.

What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

  1. watermelon
  2. warm cookies(doesn’t much matter what kind if they are fresh out of the oven)
  3. soft pretzels
  4. pita chips with dip
  5. cheese

Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire.

Pay off all debt. Put aside money for college for my boys. Buy a house on the beach. Take a long vacation with Hubs. And then another with the boys. Pay someone to wash, dry, and style my hair every other day. And some sort of not-selfish thing, I’m sure.

Name some places you have lived.

Pittsburgh, PA; Rochester, NY; and near the coast in NC

Name some bad habits you have.

Disorganized and absentminded: I don’t know if I can’t find my keys because I didn’t put them where I was supposed to or if I just can’t remember where that place is. It’s probably at least once a day that I freak out that I can’t find my keys.

Name some jobs you have had.

Social media consultant, celeb gossip writer, standardized test question writer/editor, airport finance department gal Friday, My Gym teacher, Target cashier, YMCA Member Service, Cheerleading Coach, teacher(3, 5, 6, and 8th grades).

Name those you are tagging for #OSBlog:
I’m going old school here, too- and tagging some of the bloggers that I’ve known the longest in blogland.

  1. Funny, but my folded laundry took over my loveseat last week! I am a great washer and stacker, but the hurtle of actually putting the clothes away in closets and dressers is a big one for me. :)

  2. What a wide variety of jobs! I didn’t know you worked at a airport.

It was only for a summer. It was very boring. I logged invoices for the finance department of the Pittsburgh airport.

So much fun learning more about you! I would love to do a list but it will have to wait a few days. Getting Teach out the door for her mission for our church has totally dominated my life this week.

I love this! I am going to do it and say you sent me. :) It is so much fun learning things that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise known. I think our answer for the money question is going to be the same. Have fun at Blissdom!

Oh, my sock baskets are scary. I sat and folded socks the other day- I folded something crazy like 70 pairs. Plus still had some left over!

  8. Oh this is everywhere now! I did it too. Somehow the jobs question didn’t make its way to me, but I haven’t had very many PAYING jobs, so whatever!

Warm cookies and cold milk! Yum!! I’ll share that snack with you anytime!

    • Shell says:

      I love that!

I got a cookie from Chick-fil-a the other day and it comes with a sticker that says “milk wants to take it for a swim.” It made me smile.

  10. Jessica says:

Love reading these. I could eat soft pretzels at every meal and I’m totally disorganized. I thought I was the only blogger not ultra-organized.

I love that almost every single on of these posts that I read mentioned laundry in the to do list. It makes me feel much better about my overflowing baskets (the dirty clothes basket, and the needs to be folded basket).

Awe thanks girl!!  I am behind on reading blogs so finally seeing this.  Will definitely have to do this.  You have had a lot of different jobs– I don’t think my list will be nearly as long.  There is definitely nothing quite like warm cookies.
Oh and along with my hair if someone could do my makeup too!  That would be awesome.
