Marriage Is…

things they can't say I can’t believe that today, Hubs and I celebrate 10 years of marriage! To help celebrate, some fabulous bloggers shared their thoughts on what marriage is. If you find someone new to you, please go visit them!

Marriage is an earthly journey of trials, growth, joy and pure happiness that when done right will extended beyond this earth life into the eternities. -Emmy, Emmy Mom

Marriage is knowing that you always have someone else on your team. -Kim, Co-Pilot Mom

Marriage is hard but worth it to get to spend everyday with your best friend who has chosen to love you even when at times you aren’t very lovable. -AnnMarie, Tidbits from the Queen of Chaos

Marriage is every day after, all the good and bad wrapped up so tightly together, it becomes one. It’s a ride to airport, a hand to hold, the silent treatment, make-up sex, the person who completes you. For better or worse. -Coreen, Fussypants and Little Miss

Marriage is trying to give 100 % and being the best you can be each day. Some days it may feel more like 100% from one of us and 70% from the other.  There are other days when we can both give 100 %. Thankfully there are days my husband can deliver  100% when I am only able to give 70% or 40% or 54%. -Deirdre, JDaniel4sMom

Marriage is comprise, finishing each other’s sentences, knowing what the other needs before they say it. Marriage is ups and downs, kids and life. Marriage is happiness. -Jessica Torres,  My Time as Mom and One Martini at a Time

Marriage is …The most amazing journey I’ve ever been on. The scariest roller coaster, the most colorful carousel, the most challenging (but most rewarding) puzzle I’ve ever  tried to figure out. It’s the sunniest day and the coziest evening, it’s the most comfortable sweater and the first bite of warm apple pie.  Marriage is Mess and Moments, Kisses and Compromise, Love and Like.  Marriage is Finding yourself tucked inside someone else’s heart. -Kir, The Kir Corner

Marriage is a roller coaster with many ups, downs, twists, and turns. -Natalie, From Corporate to Domestic

“Marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.”
―A quote borrowed from Dave Meurer because it just rings so true.  -Kerry Ann Morgan @Vinobaby’s Voice
Marriage is…work! Just like any relationship, you need to put time and effort into it. And speaking from experience, I know sometimes your relationship with your spouse takes a backseat once kids come into the picture. Do little things to show him  how much you love him: hold hands, make his favorite meal, remind him of a special time you two shared. Because someday the kids will all be gone, and you want to know and still be in love with the person sitting next to you! -Natalie, Mommy of a Monster and Twins

Marriage is love, patience, negotiations, respect, empathy, laughter, and communication.   A good marriage is the best gift you can give yourself and your children. -Heather, Making It Work Mom

After almost 23 years of marriage I can say that it is… the first kiss, the last kiss, the make up kiss and the make out kiss; good times, bad times and mundane times; the difference, the disagreement and the mutual decision; growing up, growing old, and growing closer; earning that the balance is in the imbalance; sharing babies, sharing a life, and sharing a bed; accepting the bad side because you love the good side. Marriage is the second hardest job you’ll ever love. -Jennifer, Jennifer P. Williams

I cherish memories of candlelight and fingers twined over sushi, but I believe our marriage weaves itself into the strongest ties with shared laughter. Whether it’s a silly comment late at night or an irreverent one-liner to evoke laughter through tears, we can always find something to make the other smile. One day I’ll be a little old lady with a straw purse and and an overabundance of red and white peppermints. By then, romance and roses won’t mean much, but I’ll still want to laugh — and share a spicy tuna roll. -Angela, Tread Softly

Marriage is worth it. Sure it is a lot of hard work, and it isn’t always easy, but spending the rest of your life connected to someone you love is a beautiful thing – and that is worth all the hard work in the world. -Tracie, From Tracie

Cool, today is my & my husbands 16th anniversary!! Happy 10th Anniversary to you & your husband! We renewed our vows for our 10th Anniversary. It was very special & actually was nicer than our wedding! lol ……..  Marriage to me is hanging in there when the tough times come. Marriage takes compromise, forgiveness & understanding. Marriage is sharing a life with your best friend, the person that you can always count on no matter what.  Marriage is unconditional love. We vow to love for richer or poorer & in sickness & in health. That means hanging in there when the tough times come!

Marriage is………worth it. It took me years to learn that my husband does not have to be exactly like I want him to be and to thank God for giving me a good man who loves me probably more than I love him.
