#100Cars for Good

Let’s get this part out of the way right away: this is about helping non-profits BUT I’m not asking you for a dime. Phew, right? So you can safely keep reading without any  of that uh-oh, I’m going to be asked for money feeling. We all want to help, but sometimes we just can’t give “just a dollar” to yet another cause.

Which is why Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good is fabutastic: it just takes a click to help the non-profit of your choice. They even have a catchy little tune about all those clicks we do in a day(totally worth watching, y’all, even those of you video-haters):

Toyota is giving away 100 cars in 100 days. Five non-profits compete for your votes and the one with the most votes at the end of the day wins a new car. You can search the charities by state to see if there any local to you that you want to help out or you can search by focus. My personal passion(and therefore, vote) goes to children’s or educational charities.

What I love about Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good

  • It’s super easy to vote: you can check out the charities each day, find out more info about them, and watch their videos, but you just need to click to vote. And it’s on facebook, where we all are every day anyway, right?
  • Each non-profit is only asking for votes for one day so no begging for votes for days or weeks: just one day each.
  • The organizations show up in a random order whenever people show up to vote so there’s no favoritism over who gets in that prime “first” spot.
  • You don’t have to “like” Toyota’s facebook page to be able to vote. I am a facebook fan of theirs, but I adore how they didn’t decide to use this project to try to force more likes.

toyota 100 cars for goodThere are still more than 50 cars left to be given away. Don’t forget to vote every day at 100 Cars for Good: after all, it just takes a click! Help spread the word about Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good by tweeting or fb’ing this post, please!

Love the way Toyota has approached this. Such a “no strings” attached way to feel good about voting and helping out.
