10

There’s something about a child reaching double digits that seems like they’re firmly moving away from being a little kid.

My middle son hit this milestone this past weekend.

It was bittersweet.

He’s becoming such an amazing young man.

He has the best, sweetest heart.

His imagination never ceases to amaze us.

The details he’s able to recall are so impressive.

But 10 is moving closer and closer to middle school and the teen years.

Where so much changes and our kids have more pressures put on them at school and with their peers.

I worry about how he’ll handle it.

How I’ll handle it, the letting go I know I coming.

So for now, I’ll enjoy still being able to consider him my little kid.
